Write with Confidence

Stop putting your author dreams on the back burner

why this workshop

If you’ve been following my writing journey, you know I finally fulfilled my life-long dream of becoming a fiction author in 2023. That journey included many setbacks.

Even though I got my master's in writing, even though I’ve been an editor for 20 years, even though I’ve hosted my podcast since 2021…

My own procrastination, the fear that my writing skills had atrophied, and the sheer overwhelm at the scope of writing a book stopped me for decades.

But that’s okay.

I found the right people who helped me remember I’m a writer at heart, that I can and want to do this. And I took action. I decided I wasn’t going to wait anymore.

That's what I want for you too.

If you’re reading this and thinking, “I’d love to learn how to get past my own procrastination and overwhelm,” then I invite you to join me at the Write with Confidence live workshop.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you run the workshop?

The workshop is held virtually for 2 hours (although, I recommend allotting 2.5 hrs if you want to stick around for the open Q&A at the end).

We'll go over the 4 major stages of the writing and revision process, which also corresponds with the different types of editors. After each session, you have the option to unmute, share your thoughts, and ask questions. This is a safe, judgment-free zone and a great chance to connect with other writers.

At the end, you'll get a roadmap poster complete with notes so you can apply what you learn going forward. We'll also have an open Q&A session, and I'll share other ways you can work with me.

What if I can't attend this time?

No problem. Each time I offer the workshop, I change the day of the week and time, so we can work this out. Just let me know you want to join the workshop and when you’re usually available, and I’ll make a note to notify you about the next date.

You can also sign up for my newsletter so you'll know ahead of time what I'm planning.

Is there a replay?

Yes. If your plans change and you can't attend live, you will have 30 days to access the recording.

What if I don't have any writing skills?

What? Of course you do. Really!

This workshop will help you overcome those thought monsters because we all start off at the beginning. The key is to take that first step and keep going.

Also, you can (and should) use what you learn here for all different types of writing, including personal, creative, and professional writing. You 100% have something to offer because your voice and your stories are important.

What if I'm not sure I want to write a book?

That's okay! What you learn here applies to all different types of writing, including personal, creative, and professional writing.

And you might be surprised. Once we break down the process into manageable chunks, you might see how it's possible and feel more confident exploring that big-scale idea.

ABOUT ME

Erin P.T. Canning has worked for 20 years as an editor, encouraging each writer’s individual voice and strengthening their writing goals.

She always planned to write a book, but life had a tendency to distract her. After dedicating six years of her life to motherhood and discovering her ADHD, she started writing again, even though she feared her writing skills had atrophied.

After letting go of her perfectionism, Erin finally finished her own shitty first draft and released her fantasy romance novel, Ruins and Redemption, in 2023. Her current role as a podcaster and book coach enables her to help writers pursue their author dreams.
